강남가라오케 : 현대차와 기아는 기존

NACS 충전구를 장착한 전기차는 미국과 캐나다, 멕시코 전역에 있는 테슬라 슈퍼차저 1만2000여 기에서 고속 충전을 할 수 있다. 강남가라오케 현대차와 기아는 기존 CCS 장착 전기차도 슈퍼차저를 이용할 수 있도록 NACS 어댑터를 2025년 1분기부터 무상 제공할 계획이다.현대차는 “테슬라 슈퍼차저 합류로 자사 전기차 이용자가 이용할 수 있는 급속 충전 네트워크 규모가 두 배로 늘어나게 될 것”이라고 했다. 호세 무뇨스 현대차 사장 겸 글로벌 최고운영책임자(COO)는 “테슬라와의 협력은 이용자에게 탁월한 전기차 경험을 제공하기 위한 현대차의 또 하나의 노력”이라고 했다.현대차 전기차를 테슬라 슈퍼차저에서 충전하면 충전 속도가 느려지는 문제도 해결했다. 강남가라오케 현대차 관계자는 “네트워크 확장을 위해 노력하고 있는 테슬라는 현대차의 전기차 플랫폼(E-GMP) 차량의 초고속 충전 속도를 완벽하게 지원할 수 있도록 최적화를 진행 중”이라고 설명했다. 800V 전압으로 초고속 충전이 가능하도록 설계된 현대차 전기차는 400V 시스템을 쓰는 테슬라 슈퍼차저를 이용하면 충전 속도가 현격히 느려지는 문제가 있었다.현대차와 기아는 자사 전기차가 슈퍼차저를 이용할 때 테슬라 앱이 아닌 자체 앱을 쓰도록 할 계획이다. 테슬라의 슈퍼차저 네트워크는 공유하되 소비자 데이터는 넘겨주지 않겠다는 의지다.제너럴모터스(GM)와 스텔란티스, BMW, 메르세데스벤츠, 혼다와 합작법인(JV)을 통해 준비 중인 전기차 충전 공동 네트워크 사업도 그대로 추진한다. 현대차와 기아가 중심이 돼 꾸린 7개사 합작법인은 내년 하반기부터 2030년까지 북미 지역 주요 도시 시내와 고속도로에 초고속 충전이 가능한 고출력 충전기를 최소 3만 기 설치한다는 목표다. 강남가라오케 합작법인이 세울 충전소는 CCS와 NACS를 모두 지원한다.
